Tat Win joins the EUDR Community of Practice

Tat Win has been selected to the technical core group of the EUDR Community of Practice, a public-private forum convened by the European Forest Institute (EFI) and the EU Sustainable Supply Chains Coalition to work through the practical implementation of the EU Deforestation Regulation ahead of its 30 December 2026 deadline.

The roughly 30-member core group brings producers, traders and SMEs together with EU Member State competent authorities, NGOs and the European Commission. It meets across a series of technical sessions through 2026, including a full-day in-person meeting at EFI’s premises in Barcelona. Tat Win sits alongside organisations including Ferrero, Mars, IKEA, Nestlé, Marks & Spencer and Bunge, and is among the few natural rubber names in the group.

“For most of the trade, EUDR is treated as a compliance burden,” said Keelong Foo, co-founder of Tat Win. “We see it differently. Traceability is something we’ve built for years — polygon-mapped plots, FSC chain of custody, a record from plantation to tank. Being in this room is a responsibility, not a reward.”

The Community of Practice is a neutral, technical space for case-based discussion rather than a rule-making body. For a producer that has invested in plot-level traceability and certification well ahead of the deadline, it is an opportunity to help ground the regulation’s implementation in operational reality — and to make sure the producer’s perspective is represented as “compliant” comes to mean something concrete for thousands of smallholders and the buyers who depend on them.
