Worker rights

UN Guiding Principles on Business & Human Rights — adopted in full

Tat Win adopts the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGP) as the framework for all labour practices. This is not a policy document — it is how we operate.

Zero tolerance for forced labour, trafficking, and withholding of travel documents. The Employer Pays Principle means our company bears all recruitment expenses — workers never pay to work.

Our commitments

Six principles we do not compromise on

These are not aspirational targets. They are operational minimums — applied to every employee, supplier, and farming partner.

  • We maintain zero tolerance for forced labour, bonded labour, and trafficking in any form. Travel documents are never withheld. Workers are free to leave employment at any time. Any breach at any tier of our supply chain triggers immediate investigation and corrective action.
  • Tat Win prohibits child labour in accordance with ILO Core Conventions. This applies to our own operations and to all suppliers and farming partners. No person below minimum working age is employed in our supply chain.
  • Employment decisions are based on qualifications and performance — not race, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, religion, political affiliation, or any other characteristic unrelated to the job. This applies at hiring, promotion, and termination.
  • Every Tat Win employee has the right to join or form a union and to engage in collective bargaining. We do not interfere with these rights. Workers may organise without fear of retaliation.
  • Tat Win bears 100% of recruitment costs. Workers pay nothing to be employed — no recruitment fees, no deposits, no wage deductions for hiring. We recruit at country of origin to minimise cross-border risks. This eliminates one of the most common mechanisms of labour exploitation.
  • Workers have access to an anonymous physical grievance box in addition to direct reporting channels. All grievances are investigated and resolved in a timely and fair manner. No retaliation for reporting.
